Jen Burke teaches with the mindset that there is an empowering and sustainable yoga practice accessible for every person who has the desire to find it. After participating in many sports growing up, Jen did not try her first in-studio yoga class until after college. Hooked after her first class, Jen thoroughly enjoyed the physical challenges and benefits of yoga and was intrigued by the emphasis on breathing techniques. She kept up a daily vinyasa practice and found that it had an intensely positive impact on both her mental and physical being. Jen studied under Bentley and Ashley Storm and Sophia Spencer in Hot Yoga USA’s teacher training program, receiving her Yoga Alliance RYT-200 certificate in May 2009. Jen loves taking advantage of any chance she can get to take class from new teachers. In addition to her yoga practice, Jen enjoys all kinds of exercise, especially walking and running with friends and her energetic teaching style reflects this with a focus on cardio flow and strength building. Jen grew up in the Washington area and currently lives in Chevy Chase with her husband and baby boy.
